On the Outlook ribbon (toolbar) you will see the "AppSolute Security" add-in with a button titled "Report Phishing".
This add-in will assist with identifying malicious emails.
The process is as follows:
1. Click on the email you would like to scan.
2. Click on the "Report Phishing" icon on the Outlook Ribbon under the "AppSolute Security" section.
The plugin will automatically scan the email and attachments and notify you of any potential issues.
The screenshot below shows an email apparently from GoFundMe regarding my account.
I selected the email and clicked on the "Report Phishing" Ribbon and the below was displayed.
I then review the details in the Helpful Tips area and also check the Links/Attachments and Words/Phrases area to further identify if this is a phishing email.
Words such as "Verify", "deadlines", "send", and any sense of urgency I normally identify as a fake email.
Next, I click "Report Email & Sender". The email is sent to NetSupport@appsolute.ccom and OK Kosher IT for review.
